160 families get access to clean water in Paktia

With the total cost of 2.5 million AFN, funded by UNICEF, one solar-energy-operated water supply network has been recently accomplished and handed over in Ahmadabad district of Paktia province.

This water supply network includes digging of one deep well, construction of a 20,000-liter concrete water reservoir, installation of 28 in-house taps and extension of 2,000 meters of pipes. With the completion of this project, around 160 families got access to clean drinking water in Mansoor Khel area of Ahmadabad district.

The water supply project was implemented by Talkhan Community Development Council (CDC) through the National Rural Water Supply, Sanitation and Irrigation Programme (Ru-WatSIP) of Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD).
