A solar energy-ran water supply network has been recently accomplished and handed over in Zazi Abad village of Dand Patan district in Paktia province.
This water supply project was executed by Ragha Community Development Council (CDC) through the National Rural Water Supply, Sanitation and Irrigation Programme (#Ru_WatSIP) of Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (#MRRD).
The project included digging of a 71-meter deep well, construction of a 20,000-liter water reservoir, the extension of a 4,000-meter pipe network and installation of 28 solar panels and 23 taps.
Totally, this project cost 3,495,105 Afs, which was funded by Unicef Afghanistan, and with its accomplishment, around 400 families in Zazi Abad village and as many as 2,500 students of Dand Patan high school got access to clean drinking water.
